Another year and another challenge,as mother nature once again threw us a curve ball as far as seasonal conditions go. After watching our mates in the South and the West battle a devastating prolonged drought, we eventually copped a dose of it ourselves, recording a very dry and frosty Autumn/Winter period which resulted in almost Zero pasture growth. It’s in times like these that we can really see the benefits of our improved muscle, fat and growth traits, with the sheep these days noticeably doing much better on very limited nutrition compared to 15 or 20 years ago before our carcass program really got going.
